### INDEX ###

Introduction

In the following is shown a list of Japanese freelance translators. I hope it will be of any help for you to find a good helper/adviser for communication in Japanese.
In the beginning, please read the following "How To Use This List" and "Notes/ Disclaimer" carefully so that there will be no misunderstanding at your first contact with translators.

How To Use This List

  1. When contacting translators on the list, please identify yourself in the beginning (e.g. your name, your company's name, telephone number, etc.).

  2. Suggest the translator such specific conditions as shown below:

    • Title of the document to be translated; e.g. User's Guide for XXXXX
    • To be translated from which language to which; e.g. Japanese to English / E to J
    • Approximate number of words of the original script; e.g. 2,000 words, drawings and figures excepted.
    • Deadline; e.g. By the end of June, 2002
    • To be delivered in what form; e.g. MS Word 98 or later files to be attached to e-mail that may or may not be compressed by ZIP or LHA; and
    • Payment terms; e.g. T.T. Remittance within 30 days after delivery

  3. If you need quotes for translation, please ask the translator.

  4. It is recommended to send the translator a couple of pages of the document you wish to have translated, as a sample, by fax or something.

  5. Do not attach any file to your e-mail when you contact a translator for the first time. This is because some mail servers and/or application software do not allow an attached file to be decoded for safety reasons. If you wish to send a file together with e-mail, please ask the translator if he or she can receive it.

  6. Do not send us any DM or spam, which will be neglected, after all.

  7. Legend: J to E = Japanese to English, E to J = English to Japanese
