MOCHIZUKI Takinojo plays Japanese percussion instruments from Tsuzumi and Taiko, drums that have been used in Noh and Kabuki for centuries, to gongs. Specialized in Japanese classical music, he also plays modern music, with ample experience performing overseas. While training young musicians, he himself pursues new possibilities of the percussion instruments and the classical music as folk music. |

Have taught percussion to students of all levels of expertise.
Currently a member of HYORYU GAKUDAN with Sumi Junko(Vo), Mizukawa Toshiya(SHAKUHACHI), Yoshimi Masaki(Tabra), and Murayama Toshiya(Pf).
Have made numerous studio recordings as Japanese music percussionist in various genres of music.
Participated in a number of rock bands including, "ICHIBAN-YA", "SHICHIFUKUJIN", and "TUM TUM TANDRICA".
Have co-played with many Jazz musicians such as:
