Journey / Greatest Hits Live

Here is the Journey's Greatest Hits Live CD. I believe that everyboday recognize Journey is one of the successful band in early 80's. As you know, they released another live album "Captured" in 1981 which includes live tracks recorded during the Departure Tour 1980. On this album, you can listen to the live tracks mainly recorded during the Escape Tour 1981 and also includes several tracks during the Frontiers Tour 1983, when they had succeded commercially all over the world.

 Alessi Brothers, Billy and Bobby were born in New York on July 12, 1953. After releasing 2 albums "Room To Grow" (1973) and "Touch" (1974) as a member of the band "Barnaby Bye" under Atlantic Records, the brothers has got a deal as "Alessi Brothers" with A&M Records in 1975. It was 1976 that their first album "Alessi" was released. They had released more 3 albums in total under A&M Records such as "All For A Reason" (1977), "Driftin'" (1978) and "Word And Music" (1979). Leaving A&M Records, They released "Long Time Friends" produced by Quincy Jones in 1982 under Quest Label. This is their best album selected from not only 4 albums but also B-Side tracks on single records released under A&M Records.

REISSUE

 

 

Leon Ware is well known for his songwriting work "I Want You" performed by Marvin Gaye. This is his 5th solo album which is full of Black AOR taste because this album was supported by many Westcoast greatest musicians such as David Foster, Jeff Porcaro, David Paich, Steve Lukather and Bill Champlin. For your information, you can also find out the name "Geoff Leib" as songwriter and/or Keyboard player on this album. Do you know who he is? He changed his name later as Jeff Paris!

 Chris Christian is one of the key person in Contemporary Christian Music Field, well-known as the producer for early works of Amy Grant, B.J. Thomas and White Heart. Nevertheless, Chris is one of the good singer/song writers. This is his solo album originally released in 1981 under Boardwalk label, which must be one of the masterpiece in early 80's Westcoast Pop field. You can find that 7 of 10 songs were co-written with J.C.Crowley of Player, and that many talented musicians such as Christopher Cross, Michael Landau, Tommy Funderburk, Bill Champlin were supporting.

Franke & The Knockouts had released 2 albums under Millennium Entertainment (distributed by RCA) and an album under MCA. The original members were Franke Previte (Lead Vocals), Bill Elworthy (Guitars), Blake Levinsohn (Keyboards), Leigh Foxx (bass) and Claude LeHenaff (drums) in 1981 when their first album titled "Frank & The Knockouts". When their 3rd album "Makin' The Point" was released in 1984, Tico Torres (Drums) later known as the drummer of "BON JOVI" joined the band, and also you can find Jeff Porcaro's name as one of the guest musicians. They played good 80's american rock which were strongly influenced by TOTO.
 
"Makin' The Point" is now re-issued with Bonus Track, which is the original version of "Hungly Eyes" performed by Eric Carmen.

MISSING PIECES

 

 

 Tim Heintz is one of the good L.A. based keyboard players who can write beautiful melodies. Some of his melody reminds me David Foster's good-old composition. You can listen to his keyboard good plays on the albums of the following artists: Dionne Farris, Wendy Moten, Vesta Williams and Natelie Cole. And he had toured with many artists such as Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald. This is his collection album of his own solo works selected from his 5 solo albums <first solo album "Quiet Time" (1987) - latest solo album "Summer Rain" (1992)>. You can listen to not only instrumental tunes but also several vocal tunes on this collection album. This is worth to buy for all Westcoast Pop fans.
