This is the live recording album of TOTO 1999
World Tour. Their 1999 Tour started from Feb. 23 in
Warsaw Poland and ended on Nov. 8 in Paris France. And
this live recording was done in France (March 1999). You
may be surprised that Bobby Kimball's vocals are superior
when you compare with his 80's works with TOTO. I am
happy because Luke's too long guitar solo performance has
shortened on this CD. On the contrary, I am not happy
because "99", "Africa" and "Children's Anthem" are not on
this CD.

CHICAGO

Many Chicago fans are really looking forward to
having their whole brand-new studio recording album for a
long time since their famous 22nd album "Stone Of
Sisyphus" became unreleased. On this live album, you can
listen to 3 new studio recording tracks, "Back To You",
"If I Should Ever Lose You" written by Burt Bacharach,
and "(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher"
known for Jackie Wilson's 68 version. I believe they can
do make their original new studio recording full album
only if they will stop touring for a while, because Bill
Champlin, Jason Scheff and Robert Lamm made really
excellent solo album during 90's as a matter of fact.
From such viewpoint, this album is meaningful so that
Chicago fans can wait for new Chicago by listening to
this live album instead of expecting them to do live
performance. Don't you agree with my opinion?

John Elefante, CCM singer/songwriter/producer,
continues to offer us fine AOR/Melodious Rock since he
left the band "Kansas". His related well-known album
"It's A Jungle Out There" under the name of the legendary
CCM project "Mastedon" was released in 1989. Since then,
we keep our eyes what he would do as a producer and/or as
a recording artist. In 1997, John released his solo album
"Corridors" under Pamplin Music (USA). And this year,
John Elefante completed and released another fine album
"Defying Gravity".

<ACM Rating: Stan Meissner, Canadian Singer/Songwriter is
well-known for his tunes recorded by many major artists
such as Celine Dion, Eddie Money, Rita Coolidge, BJ
Thomas, Alias, Triumph,, Eric Clapton, and Lara
Fabian. As a recording artist, Stan Meissner has also
released 3 good AOR albums "Dangerous Games"(1983),
"Windows To Light"(1986) and "Undertow"(1992). Peter
Fredette, a top Canadian vocalist backing vocals for
artists such as Ian Thomas, has performed and recorded 7
albums with Kim Mitchell since 1984 as a vocalist and
bass player, and continues to record and tour with
Mitchell as well as the reunion of Kim's original band
Max Webster. International

Metropolis is Stan Meisnner's new project with
Peter Fredette. This project was started back in 1987
with the recording of the demo of the song "Wild And
Blue" when Meissner was looking for the right dynamic
rock vocalist to sing it. Over the next few years the two
worked together on a few more songs but couldn't get
around to completing the recording of the Metropolis
album until MTM encouraged to complete this project album
in 1999 as the result of the 12 year collaboration
between Meissner & Fredette. This is really one of
good AOR/Melodic Rock project we have encountered at the
last moment before coming Millennium.

<ACM Rating: Marilyn Scott's first recording as a solo artist was a
single version of Brian Wilson's "God Only Knows'' in
1977 that hit #61 at the highest on the Billboard Chart
and this led to her first album, "Dreams of Tomorrow" for
Atco/Atlantic. This first album is full of R&B Jazz
funk tastes all through the album. After releasing this
first solo album, she released her masterpiece album
"Without Warning" as you may be
aware. International

<ACM Rating: <ACM Rating: In 1982, they released 1st album "Eye To Eye" produced
by Gary Katz and first single "Nice Girls" hit Billboard
Top 40. Only one year later, they released their 2nd
album "Shakespeare Stole My Baby" including the Billboard
Top 100 single hit tune "Lucky". If I explain to their
music style, "Eye To Eye" was "Basia-vein pop heavily
influenced from Steely Dan." Tracklisting: Tracklisting:

"Eye To Eye" is the duo comprising of Julian
Marshall, keyboard player coming from UK, and Deborah
Berg, female vocalist coming from Seattle,USA. Julian
Marshall had done another duo with female singer,
"Marshall Hain" in late 70's, which released the album
"Free Ride" in UK (same album released in USA was titled
as "Dancing In The City". The reason why this unknown pop
duo "Eye To Eye" was remarked was, as you guess, the
works produced by Gary Katz known for his producing works
with Steely Dan. It is said that "Eye To Eye" started its
duo activity in 1979 by releasing their single record "Am
I Normal ?" c/w "Tonight Insomnia" under Automatic
Records UK.

Jaki Whitren and John Cartwright coming from UK
got a recording deal with Elektra when they were making
demo materials in New York. And they released this album
"Rhythm Hymn" which has crossover sound between British
Pop and New York sophisticated blue-eyed soul music. When
you listen to this album, I believe you feel New York
City Pop of mid 80's. Track 9 "New York" and Track 10
"Goodbye Joe" are really good and they sounds like the
tune recorded very recently.

Re-Reissue
Lauren Wood started her professional musical career as
a member of the group Chunky, Novi & Ernie, who had
released their first album produced by Ted Templeman
under Warner Bros in 1973. (In 1977, the group also
released "Chunky, Novi & Ernie".) But they did not
get commercial success. So Lauren restarted as a solo
singer and released her 1st album "Lauren Wood" in 1979,
which ranked #24 on US album chart. On her second album "Cat Trick", you can find out the
hit tune written by Lauren and covered by famous artists
such as "In The Dark" performed by Lani Hall, "Breakin'
Too Many Hearts" and "Fallen" performed by Nicolette
Larson on her album "In The Nick Of Time" (1979).

Lauren Wood's 1st and 2nd solo albums, which
have been out of print for a long time, are re-reisssued

Terence Boylan did a group named "Boona Boylan"
with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan in his
college days in New York. He recorded his first album
"Alias Boona" in 1969 with Fagen and Becker. And after
long silence, he returned in 1977 with a self-titled
album "Terence Boylan" for Asylum Records which had pure
Westcoast sound but his music was said to be more
sophistcated than Jackson Browne's works. In 1980 Terence
released his 3rd solo album "Suzy" for Asylum Records.
