"Hosomi" means slender and "otsunen" means to pass the winter. This damselfly passes the winter in adult form. During the winter "Hosomi-otsunen-tonbo" rests on a twig and the color of the body is brown, so it is hard to find this damselfly. When spring comes, the body gets blue.
