Toho, Miyata
Born in Tokyo at 1898. His name is well known as a good harmonica player even in his young days. In 1918 he formed first harmonica band, which is well-known as Miyata Harmonica Band later in Japan. Miyata Band played in many records from Nippon Columbia (though we cannot get them now), and their play was used in movies and radio. Died in 1986.
"Miyata Band" was also well-known as a brand name of doublereed diatonic harmonica, with the box Mr. Miyata's face was printed on. It is said that he had to go several times to barbar shops a week, because of keeping his hair as same as the picture on the box of Miyata Band. You can feel how he was well-known.
