● PROFILE
Katsuma Nakajima was born in Tokyo, Japan on March 5th,1958.
Studied composition under Mr.Nobuo Terahara (Aram Khachaturyan's
disciple), conducting under Mr.Shigenobu Yamaoka.
Won a prize at the 'Student Composition Contest in Tokyo' in 1972,
and the Composition
Competition of 'Japan Society for Contemporary Music' in 1987.
Started his career in 1982 at concerts held by such organizations as
"Japanese Society for Contemporary Music" , "Japan Federation of
Composers", '"The Committee for Music and Dance in Japan ".
And besides, attended such international festivals and events as
'Leningrad Musical Spring', 'Moscow International Festival' ,'Borbad
International Symposium', 'Annual Review in Yugoslavia', 'Encuentros
in Argentina', 'Ochestral Presentation in Japan','Russia and Japan by
St Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra, Subscription concert of
Sarajevo State Philharmonic Orchestra,...etc
And also attended concerts in the above-mentioned countries in 15
countries such as Japan, Russia, Germany, France, Austria, Poland,
Switzerland, Czech, America, Sweden,Argentina, Armenia,Tajikistan
,Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Bosnia & Herzegovina;・・・・.
His compositions and arranged scores are published from many
publishers such as ZENON, DOREMI, Moscow <MUZYKA>, Ongaku no
Tomo, KAWAI・・・and so on.
He acted as Office Director of 'The Committee for Music and Dance in
Japan' , Secretary-general of 'Japan -Russia Society for musicians',
Organizer of 'MUSIMA' for peace concert, Advisor to The committee for
music and dance in japan' , Committeeman of 'Japan Eurasia Society',
Editor of the journal <New Composers>

１９５８年３月５日、東京都千代田区富士見町生まれ。幼少の頃よりピアノやフルート、ヴィブラフォンに親しみ、ピアノを池本純子に、指揮を山岡重信に師事。
８１年以降、作曲をアラム・ハチャトゥリヤン門下の寺原伸夫に、管弦楽法をショスタコーヴィチ門下のカレン・ハチャトゥリヤン（アラム・ハチャ
トゥリヤンの甥）に師事。７３年、全日本学生作曲コンクール、８７年、現音作曲新人賞に入選。８２年から本格的に作曲活動を開始。
８３年ソビエト作曲家同盟書記長、チーホン・フレンニコフの推薦を受け、モスクワ国際音楽祭に招聘される。これを皮切りに、モスクワ現代音楽祭、
レニングラードの春、モスクワの秋、ボルバード国際シンポジウム、タシケント国際音楽祭、ナウリュズ２１、ハバロフスク現代音楽祭・・・などの国際イベン
トに参加。作品は、日本、ロシアはじめ、アルメニア、ウズベキスタン、カザフスタン、タジキスタン、ドイツ、フランス、オーストリア、スイス、ポーラン
ド、アルゼンチン、ユーゴスラヴィア、チェコ、スウエーデン、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナ、アメリカ・・・等、１５カ国以上で演奏（放送、録音）されてき
た。
中でもユーラシア諸国の音楽家との関わりが多く、サンクトペテルブルグ交響楽団、サンクトペテルブルグ
アカデミー国立交響楽団、カザフスタン国立交響楽団、サラエボ
フィルハーモニー管弦楽団・・・といった演奏団体はじめ、リュボーフィ・シシュハノヴァ（Org）、エレーナ・アシュケナージ(Pf)、グレゴーリ・フェ
イギン(Vn)、ミハイル・ドゥルジーニン(Trp)、リュドミラ・ゴルブ(Org)、スヴェトラーナ・ナヴァサルジャン(Pf)、ガヤネ・ジャガツパ
ニャン(Pf)、ヴェラ・ヴァイドマン姉妹・・・・他、多くの名手たちによって、自作品や編曲作品が演奏されてきた。
出版物は４０冊近くあり、モスクワ国立出版社＜MUZYKA＞より、オーケストラのための交響的挿話「地球」、パイプオルガンと朗読のための「ミ
ゼレレ」、ヴァイオリンとピアノのための「気まぐれな情景」。マザーアース社より、オーケストラのための「祭礼幻想」「森の民」、トランペット小協奏曲。
全音楽譜出版社より、弦楽四重奏曲「トリスタ」、ピアノのための「３つの暗喩」。この他、カワイ、音楽之友、日本音楽舞踊会議、日本ユーラシア協会等から
も出ている。
編曲作品の出版は、オーケストラをピアノにしているものが殆どで、全音楽譜出版社より、ハチャトゥリヤン「ガイーヌ」（抜粋）、ハチャトゥリヤン
「仮面舞踏会」（全曲）、リムスキー＝コルサコフ「シェエラザード」（全曲）、ムソルグスキー「禿げ山の一夜」、カバレフスキー「道化師」（全曲）、ホル
スト「惑星」（全曲）、シベリウス「フィンランディア」、ガーシュウイン「パリのアメリカ人」（連弾用）。ドレミ楽譜出版社より、ベルリオーズ「幻想交響
曲」（全曲）、モーツァルト「アリア集」・・・等。
著書は、ドレミ楽譜出版社より、「スコアリーディングを始める前に」、「クラシック作曲家ファイル」がある。前者の教材は、いくつかの大学で使用
されており、また、筆者による公開講座やセミナーも、全国のヤマハやカワイの音楽教室で、ピアノやエレクト―ンの講師対象に行われている。
オーケストラ作品のアナリーゼや解説書は、全音楽譜出版社のロシア物中心に、ハチャトゥリヤン「交響曲第１番」、チャイコフスキー「交響曲第６番
＜悲愴＞」、リムスキー＝コルサコフ「シェエラザード」、ラフマニノフ「ピアノ協奏曲第２番」、「パガニーニの主題による狂詩曲」、ベルリオーズ「幻想交
響曲」・・・等があり、近刊も数冊予定されている。
録音物は、ヤロスラブリ打楽器による「アンサンブル曲集」（ロシア）、萱原祐子による「日本組曲」（チェコ放送）、北川翔による「バラライカ作品集」などのCDに作品が収められている他、NAVIによる「中島克磨（初期）作品集」がある。
作曲活動をする一方で、平和友好活動も行い、９２年より＜ムジマ音楽工房＞を主宰し、イラク、ユーゴスラビア、ロシア、タジキスタンなどの戦火や内紛に見舞われた国々の作品を日本で紹介する平和コンサートを開催。
音楽団体での活動については、日本音楽舞踊会議事務局長、日本・ロシア音楽家協会事務局長、日本現代音楽協会編集委員・・などを歴任。
現在、日本ユーラシア協会理事、日本・ロシア音楽家協会運営委員、日本音楽舞踊会議相談役、日本作曲家協議会、日本現代音楽協会、各会員。
