features gala concerts by leading international performers, a family
concert for all the family, and open stage performances, in addition to
various other events. Participants are expected to number 10,000.

October, the highlight of autumn in Japan, is usually blessed with
pleasant weather and the changing colours of the season are at their
most glorious. Autumn plays host to a wide variety of festivals and
events nationwide, which attract a large number of local and international
tourists.

The City of Yokohama, the home of the Festival, offers all the excitement
and the latest facilities expected of a major international city.

The easily accessible Festival site, the Pacific Convention Plaza
Yokohama, lies right in the heart of Minato Mirai 21, a major waterfront
development geared towards the 21st century. First class hotels, such
as the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel, are in easy reach and
JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) can arrange accommodation on request.

All the event spaces for the Festival are well linked and a shuttle bus
service will operate between the nearby hotels and the various event
spaces for the convenience of participants.

Throughout the Festival all participants are freely welcome to make use
of the Open Session & Goodwill Space to enjoy musical exchanges, make
new friends and renew old friendships. We aim to foster goodwill and
harmony among all our participants.

Famous local and international performers and harmonica lovers have been
invited to take part in the World Harmonica Festival '95 Japan and it is a
great honour for the country to be able to stage it here in Japan at this time.
